Description

My requested half of a trade with a incredibly sweet lady. This is way overdue (almost by a year, ouch.) She has the patience of a saint.

But, I'm glad I am able to finish a presentable piece for her now. This one was my second draft. I already had one in the works prior, but disliked it/didn't feel it was up to top quality and tossed it. This one came out much better so it was worth it.

As she requested, a Toco Toucan plush!
It is 8.5 inches tall, 14 inches long from tail tip to beak.
100% original patterned textile, handsewn and assembled.
No upholstery foam base this time either. Getting more bold with relying solely on pattern designs. Took 2 years to be properly familiarized with shapes. I'm a slow learner.

Various fleeces (and look!) some white faux fur for accents. I think the combination worked out well. I'm still not confident enough in my textile skills to finish completely with faux fur. It's not as easy to sculpt/predict the shape faux fur forms --but I suppose, that's where practice and familiarity kicks in. Fleece is easy to sew and idiotically predictable. It's simple. I like simple.

Some neat features:
-The wings are posable. You can move them and open them up or have them draped ("folded") down on the body's side.
-The wings are double-layered. This gives off the same feel as those fleece throws. Very soft.
-I went out of my way to individually tip the claws black with another layer of fleece.

I'm fond of how this one came out.
Mostly because I find it funny looking.
And I like things that look funny.
